‘Tezos is an open-source blockchain protocol for assets and applications backed by a global community of validators, researchers, and builders which is secure, upgradable, and built to last’. These are the exact words taken from their official website.

Tezos also has its native cryptocurrency known as XTZ which is built on a Proof-of-Stake blockchain network offering peer-to-peer transactions.

Do you know?

In 2017, the company launched its ICO which clocked $232 million making it one of the biggest ICOs of all time.

Taking a deep dive, the fundamentals would have been strong enough to attract an audience so diversified and willing to invest in the company. Let’s look at what Tezos boasts.

Self-Amendment

This brings a plus point as the suggestions or expectations of a fork can divide the community. Self-amendment not only brings down the costs of coordination and execution but also prevents the splitting of a network.

On-Chain Governance

Tezos provides stakeholders to participate in governing the protocol. On-chain mechanism and self-amendment help Tezos change this initial election process to adopt better governance mechanisms.

Smart Contracts

Tezos offers a platform to create smart contracts and build DApps that cannot be censored or shut down by third parties. Tezos facilitates formal verification to improve security by mathematically proving properties about programs such as smart contracts to help avoid a costly bug.

Proof-of-Stake(PoS)

Tezos solve the problem of crypto mining which harms the environment by running on a Proof-of-Stake model. In simple words, the mining power is directly proportional to the number of coins they hold. Additionally, PoS is less costly than other consensus mechanisms and lowers the barriers to entry for involvement.

The Tezos India Foundation also brings in Tezos India Fellowship for Indian developers to contribute to the Tezos stack and encourage blockchain development. The registrations have started on the Devfolio website.

Tezos India is a non-profit organization with a strong focus on developer adoption, education, and providing assistance to enthusiastic and talented developers. It regularly organizes educational webinars, workshops, hackathons, and fellowships, to nurture, develop, and facilitate the Indian blockchain ecosystem.

The Tezos India Fellowship 1.0 saw a massive success as the fellowship holders built exemplary projects from quadratic funding platforms to NFT enabled Cricket Fantasy Leagues, with some projects even receiving grants up to $10,000 on an exceptional performance.

The Tezos India Fellowship 2.0 will be spread over a period of 8 weeks led by a mentor and a lucrative stipend of $2000 to developers.

Apart from the stipend, the fellowship will help developers in their open-source game as they learn, grow and contribute to become outstanding developers. The mentorship by the Industry Leaders will bring enthusiasm to developers as they unveil the challenges in making.

More than 3500 applicants have successfully registered for the Tezos India Fellowship 2.0, the applications are going to close on July 3, 2021.

If you believe in a decentralized future and want to be equipped to build and grow alongside the best in the ecosystem, you shouldn’t miss out on applying to Tezos India Fellowship 2.0.
