This International Women’s Day, The Blockchain School is launching its “Women in Blockchain Scholarship Program” to celebrate womanhood and empower the community. Women are a crucial part of any society and the world cannot be called a civilization unless it is reinforced by women. Women are the foundation of mankind and are the ones who bring the future of humanity to reality. Women play many roles in their lives. May it be a caring mother, a crazy sister, a trustworthy friend, a breath-taking lover, a daughter to be proud of, a worker to be cherished and a responsible citizen of a country, women make sure they give their best to the society and make it sustainable.

But recently, the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) has widened since the 1980’s. Over 37% of all computer science graduates in the U.S. were women until the initial 1980’s. Today, that number has degraded to 18%. The global scenario is nothing different. The numbers reflect upon the similar trends. “Girls Who Code” estimates that by 2020 there will be an estimated 1.4 million computing-related jobs in the U.S. alone and women will likely only fill 3% of those. This study also found that women between the age of 25–34 years are increasingly dissatisfied with their career prospects in technology. The reasons mostly include unsupportive work environments, lack of inspiring role models and sacrifices in their personal lives which hinder career growth and prospects. The Blockchain and Crypto space has only 5% of female involvement on the tech front.

The Blockchain School aims to make a difference in the life of women who truly desire and deserve a jumpstart in their careers. As an action to support the global agenda of Women Empowerment, The Blockchain School is offering Full Scholarships worth USD 400,000 offering 2,020 women across the globe, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020. An initiative to Empower Women in the New World of Decentralized Innovation & emerging technology.
